I drove to Pune this morning with a lot of toys contributed by the Shorey family. As I had mentioned in the Immediate Need page, the children of playgroup and Junior KG needed toys. Wanted to collect more but could not as was very busy all the past several weeks. As you can see, I am even updating this page after nearly 19 days! I am accompanied by my daughter, Natasha. Went to the school but it was closed as I reached a little late (tire puncture at 6:30 in the morning!). Met Mr. Bhalke and gave him the toys. Also handed over the cheque for the fees for 15 students for the month of September. Spoke with him about some of the challenges that have still not been solved and then bid him goodbye. I must confess that due to my own inefficiencies and inadequacy, we have still not been able to collect enough for the plastering and teacher's salaries. I must resolve to rectify this immediately. Have to rush back to Mumbai... The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep... |
